What does a 5,000 lb capacity rating mean?

It is the load the forklift is rated to lift at the load center on its data plate. The rated capacity goes down at greater lift heights and with attachments such as a clamp or fork positioner, so check the rating at the height you need. Each listing shows its capacity and lift height.
